Chopping Board Recipies> Chicken Dumplings.
Ingredients-
Serves 4
2 Ib boiled dark and white skinned chicken meat.( Save stock)
2 tbs chopped onion
1/2 cup diced celery
1/2 cup diced carrots
2 tbs diced red bell pepper
1 tbs butter
3 tbs olive oil
1 cup whole milk
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tbs flour
3-4 cups chicken stock or water
2 tbs chopped onion
1/2 cup diced celery
1/2 cup diced carrots
2 tbs diced red bell pepper
1 tbs butter
3 tbs olive oil
1 cup whole milk
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tbs flour
3-4 cups chicken stock or water
Dumplings-
2 all purpose cup flour
2 tbs butter
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbs butter
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
Combine and mix ingredients in a mixing bowl to form a dough
Set aside.
Set aside.
Method-
Heat up butter and olive oil in a skillet
Add chopped onion, celery, carrot, diced red bell pepper, flour and cook at low heat for 4-5 minutes
Add chicken stock or water and stir to loosen up flour.
Add salt, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and onion powder
Bring to a quick boil
Add chicken and spoon in dumplings (Teaspoon or tablespoon depending on dumpling size) at a time
Stir in milk and cook at low heat for 15 - 20 minutes or till done.
Add chopped onion, celery, carrot, diced red bell pepper, flour and cook at low heat for 4-5 minutes
